Conditions for employment at Erasmus MC

In order to work for Erasmus MC, you are required by the Dutch law, to meet these conditions:

General conditions

All new employees are obliged to present the following documents:  

  • Proof of identity by means of a valid passport or valid ID card
  • Diplomas and certificates that are relevant for the position
  • Current certificate of good conduct (VOG). Within two monhts of the starting date Dutch residents need to provide an original VOG. Information about obtaining a VOG will be provided after you have been selected for a position. 

Job related conditions

When working in a patientcare related position there a some additional conditions for processing the employment contract.


If you work in one of the professions mentioned below, you need to be registrated in the BIG-register:

  • Dentist
  • Doctor
  • Health Psychologist
  • Midwives
  • Nurses
  • Pharmacists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Physician Assistants
  • Psychotherapists
  • Remedial Educationalists


A RGS registration is required for Medical Specialists and Practitioners who fit the KNMG profile.
