Job description

You are expected to conduct experiments and analyzing data and work in close collaboration with a PhD and a Master's students. You are also expected to assist and train students.
Work environment
The Endocrine Tumor Laboratory at Erasmus MC has a strong legacy of translational research dedicated to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders, with a primary focus on pituitary, adrenal, and neuroendocrine tumors. It is one of the few centers worldwide with extensive expertise in culturing endocrine tumor tissues. In recent years, the lab has adopted multi-omics technologies to enable a more in-depth analysis of endocrine tumors, utilizing a combination of omics approaches alongside advanced 3D cell culture models. These efforts aim to:
- Uncover pathophysiological mechanisms of endocrine tumors.
- Identify molecular drivers of tumor growth and hormone production in endocrine tumors.
- Discover novel diagnostic, predictive, and therapeutic biomarkers .
- Evaluate drug sensitivity and identify new therapeutic targets
Qualifications and skills
We are looking for a highly motivated technician with an HLO degree (BSc/MSc) in Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field. Candidates must have proven research experience in mammalian cell culture, as well as molecular and cellular biology techniques such as DNA cloning, PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, immunofluorescence. Experience with omics technologies is highly desirable.
Additional requirements and preferences:
- Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 is plus.
- Experience with human iPSC and/or organoid culture is also a plus.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken Dutch and English.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong motivation for research, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work autonomously and within a team, with good communication skills in English (the working language).

Terms of employment
- The initial employment will be for one year, with the possibility of a permanent position after a positive evaluation
- The gross monthly salary amounts a minimum of € 3.503,- and a maximum of € 4.960,- (scale 8M) based on a full-time working week of 36 hours.
- Excellent fringe benefits, such as a 13th month that is already paid out in November and an individual travel expense package.
- Pension insurance with ABP. We take care of approximately 2/3 of the monthly contribution.
- Special benefits, such as an in-company physiotherapist and bicycle repairer. And there is also a gym where you can work on your fitness after work.
