Job description

The Endocrine Tumor Laboratory at Erasmus MC has a strong legacy of translational research dedicated to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders, with a primary focus on pituitary, adrenal, and neuroendocrine tumors. It is one of the few centers worldwide with extensive expertise in culturing endocrine tumor tissues. In recent years, the lab has adopted multi-omics technologies to enable a more in-depth analysis of endocrine tumors, utilizing a combination of omics approaches alongside advanced 3D cell culture models. These efforts aim to:

  • Uncover pathophysiological mechanisms of endocrine tumors
  • Identify molecular drivers of tumor growth and hormone production in endocrine tumors
  • Discover novel diagnostic, predictive, and therapeutic biomarkers
  • Evaluate drug sensitivity and identify new therapeutic targets

You will join a project focused on uncovering the molecular mechanisms that drive the initiation and progression of endocrine tumors. The project integrates cutting-edge CRISPR-based gene editing and advanced cell culture models with both bulk and single-cell multi-omics approaches. In addition to advancing our understanding of the molecular pathways underlying these tumors, you will contribute to translational research, where discoveries are developed toward potential clinical applications. You will be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and international research environment, working closely with both basic scientists and clinical researchers.

Work environment

The Erasmus MC stands for a healthy population and excellence in healthcare. Through groundbreaking research, education, and patient care, we strive to push boundaries and set new standards.
