Job description

The Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Erasmus MC invites applications from outstanding scientists for a faculty position (Assistant or Associate Professor) within the Hepatology Unit.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative investigator to develop an innovative, laboratory-based translational research program focused on liver diseases. The successful candidate will explore fundamental disease mechanisms and/or novel therapeutic strategies that contribute to improving the diagnosis and treatment of liver disorders. Candidates employing modern genetic, biochemical, bioinformatic, or other advanced approaches are particularly encouraged to apply. Exceptional senior candidates may also be considered.

Qualifications and skills

The appointed faculty member is expected to establish and lead an independent research program in translational hepatology and to contribute actively to the department’s broader research and teaching missions.

Terms of employment

  • You will receive a permanent position.
  • The gross monthly salary amounts a minimum of € 6.978,- and a maximum of € 8.747,- (scale 12 or 14).
  • Excellent fringe benefits, such as a 13th month that is already paid out in November and a individual travel expense package.
  • An International Office which aids you in preparing for you arrival and stay.
  • Pension insurance with ABP. We take care of approximately 2/3 of the monthly contribution.
  • Special benefits, such as an incompany physiotherapist and bicycle repairer. And there is also a gym where you can work on your fitness after work.
