Job description
The Radiology AI Integration Specialist serves as the clinical and workflow expert in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI solutions within radiology environments. The role focuses on translating clinical requirements into effective software functionality, ensuring seamless integration of AI results into PACS workflows, validating AI-generated outputs, and supporting adoption of innovative technologies by radiologists.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Workflow Design
- Define clinical requirements for AI-enabled radiology workflows.
- Advise on optimal integration of AI findings into PACS and reporting environments.
- Design acceptance, rejection, and modification workflows for AI-generated results.
- Develop clinical terminology, scoring systems, and reporting standards.
AI Integration & Validation
- Evaluate integration of AI algorithms into radiology workflows.
- Validate AI-generated findings, measurements, and structured outputs.
- Assess usability and clinical relevance of AI-generated recommendations.
- Participate in iterative testing and refinement of AI solutions.
Generative AI Evaluation
- Review AI-generated reports, impressions, summaries, and lay-language reports.
- Evaluate ambient reporting solutions and clinical documentation tools.
- Identify risks, limitations, and opportunities for workflow optimization.
- Provide structured feedback to development teams.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as liaison between radiologists, data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and hospital IT teams.
- Participate in workshops, design reviews, and project meetings.
- Contribute to clinical innovation strategy and roadmap development.
Research and Dissemination
- Contribute to evaluation studies, white papers, abstracts, scientific publications, and conference presentations.
- Support evidence generation regarding productivity, quality, adoption, and user experience of AI solutions.

The department of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine of the Erasmus MC is the largest department of Radiology in the Netherlands and one of the largest in Europe. Qualifications and skills
- Master's degree or PhD in Medicine (Radiology preferred) or Biomedical Sciences, Health Informatics, Biomedical Engineering or Computer Science with healthcare specialization.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in radiology, imaging informatics, healthcare IT, or clinical AI.
- Experience with PACS/RIS environments.
- Experience evaluating or implementing AI solutions in healthcare.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams involving clinicians and software developers.

Terms of employment
- The appointment is available from September 1st, 2026. You will receive a temporary position for 1 year.
- The gross monthly salary between € 3.598,- and € 5.669,- (scale 10). If not yet promoted, you start in scale 10-2. If promoted, scale 10-5. The terms of employment are according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Dutch University Medical Centers (CAO UMC).
- A salary increase of 3,5% from July 2026, according to the collective labor agreement (CLA).
- Excellent fringe benefits, such as a 13th month that is already paid out in November and a individual travel expense package.
- An International Office which aids you in preparing for you arrival and stay.
- Pension insurance with ABP. We take care of approximately 2/3 of the monthly contribution.
- Special benefits, such as an incompany physiotherapist and bicycle repairer. And there is also a gym where you can work on your fitness after work.
