Job description
The patients at Erasmus MC are among the most vulnerable and complex in the Netherlands. Groundbreaking forms of therapy are tested in our hospital for feasibility and effectiveness.
As a Research Analyst in Endocrinology, you will actively contribute to medical scientific research. You will be the primary point of contact for (translational) endocrinological research, both for internal and external researchers, as well as for the Erasmus MC biobank. Together with the lead analyst/trial coordinator and laboratory specialists, you will manage trials from intake through to reporting.
We are looking for an experienced colleague who can establish laboratory tests that are not yet widely used, in accordance with the highest quality standards such as ISO15189 and GCP. Through this combination of diagnostics and scientific research, we remain at the forefront of improving the quality of life for our patients.
Work environment
The Endocrinology Laboratory at Erasmus MC is a laboratory with its own distinctive character. Here, you will develop and apply new techniques such as sequencing, mass spectrometry and immunochemistry within the context of medical scientific research. You will work with state-of-the-art equipment. Our motto is: “If everyone can do it, then we don’t need to.” New and complex projects are our standard, not the exception.
Our team consists of 19 colleagues, a well-balanced mix of highly experienced (lead) analysts and young talents. This composition ensures that we approach each day with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
Qualifications and skills
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with a genuine passion for clinical scientific research.
- You have proven yourself as a research analyst by working for at least three years at an academic level, where processing clinical trials was required. As the laboratory handles trials in LabTrain, knowledge of this system is considered an advantage.
- Ideally, you are familiar with the endocrinology test portfolio and the techniques involved, or you can demonstrate that you are able to acquire this knowledge in the short term.
- You are skilled in solving complex problems and presenting your solutions. Presenting your work to a small group of colleagues is something you see as a welcome change.
- Scientifically, you stand for quality and enjoy contributing ideas on the execution and reporting of clinical scientific research. You consider working closely with clinical researchers to find the best solutions as an ideal role.
Before you apply please check our conditions for employment.
Terms of employment
- A one-year contract with the possibility of a permanent position.
- The gross monthly salary amounts a minimum of € 3,503 and a maximum of € 4,960 (scale 8M).
- You can work both full-time and part-time. Together, we will discuss options. We value a good work-life balance.
- Excellent fringe benefits, such as a 13th month that is already paid out in November and an individual travel expense package.
- An International Office which aids you in preparing for you arrival and stay.
- Pension insurance with ABP. We take care of approximately 2/3 of the monthly contribution.
- Special benefits, such as an incompany physiotherapist and bicycle repairer. And there is also a gym where you can work on your fitness after work.
