Job description
As a Research Analyst/Lab Technician at the Erasmus MC iPS Core Facility, you will be responsible for generating iPSC lines from both healthy and patient-derived cell materials to serve as model systems in research. You will also take part in characterizing and performing quality control on newly generated iPSC lines. The iPS Core Facility is part of the Core Facility Research Program and provides support for stem cell research to investigators both within and outside Erasmus MC.
In this role, you will collaborate with fellow Research Analysts and Lab Technicians to culture primary cells from patient material and reprogram them into induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPS cells) according to researchers’ requests. You will contribute to the characterization and quality control of iPSC lines using techniques such as immunofluorescence, FACS, and RT-PCR. All work is carried out in accordance with SOPs and study protocols. You will also be responsible for maintaining the biobank and documenting and analyzing experimental results.
Work environment
You will join a small, close-knit team of four, where collaboration and mutual support are key. The atmosphere is informal, engaged, and everyone works together to get things done. The role offers a mix of routine tasks and new challenges, keeping the work varied and interesting. What truly unites the team is a shared passion for science and supporting Erasmus MC researchers. Everyone approaches their work with enthusiasm, especially in handling our newly generated iPS cells, creating strong engagement and a real sense of team spirit.
As one colleague says:
“We are a small team and support each other; together we roll up our sleeves and get things done.”
If you thrive in a motivated, collaborative environment where people share a common passion, you will quickly feel at home here.
