Job description
As a PhD student you will play a central role in the execution of a prospective clinical trial and the associated translational research on radionuclide therapy for aggressive meningiomas. You will contribute to both the clinical and scientific aspects of the study and support the coordination of multidisciplinary research activities.
Your responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the clinical study and facilitating collaboration between the involved disciplines.
- Patient inclusion and follow-up within the clinical trial.
- Analysis of imaging and treatment outcomes, including safety, tracer uptake and tumour response.
- Maintaining contact with patients and patient representatives and integrating patient perspectives into the study design and communication of research findings.
- Translating research results into scientific publications and presentations at (inter)national conferences
And you will have a close supervision by experienced clinicians and researchers from multiple disciplines and access to unique infrastructure, including PET-MRI, radionuclide therapy and advanced imaging facilities.
This PhD project requires clinical engagement, scientific curiosity and organisational skills in a study that is both scientifically and logistically complex.ted.
Work environment
You will work within the Erasmus MC Brain Tumor Center and the Department of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, where clinical care, scientific research and technological innovation are closely integrated.
The project is conducted in multidisciplinary collaboration between nuclear medicine, radiology, neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, radiation oncology and pathology.
Within this team you will work alongside physicians, researchers and technical specialists, including medical physicists, pharmacists, radiochemists and specialised laboratory staff.
This environment offers a unique combination of patient care, advanced molecular imaging (such as PET and PET-MRI) and the clinical development of novel theranostic radionuclide therapies for brain tumours.l practice.
Qualifications and skills
You have:
- A completed degree in Medicine or Technical Medicine.
- A structured and careful working style with strong analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Affinity with clinically oriented research in a complex study setting.
- Good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

Terms of employment
- You will receive a temporary position for 4 years.
- The gross monthly salary is € 3.108,- in the 1st year and it gradually increases to € 3.939,- in the 4th year (scale OIO) based on a full-time workweek of 36 hours.
- A salary increase of 3,5% from July 2026, according to the collective labor agreement (CLA)
- Partial working from home is possible.
- Excellent fringe benefits, such as a 13th month that is already paid out in November and a individual travel expense package.

- Pension insurance with ABP. We take care of approximately 2/3 of the monthly contribution.
