The SASICU project, with a European consortium, explores implementation of smart clinical technology in the ICU that minimize alarming in the direct surrounding of the patient and alarm fatigue for healthcare workers. This EU funded project presents an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of innovative research in clinical setting.
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate researcher with a medical or technical physician background to join our clinical team in the department of Adult ICU of Erasmus Medical Center.
As a (postdoctoral) researcher in patient experience, you will play a key role in conducting cutting-edge research that focuses on understanding the multi-faceted nature of patient experiences in critical care environments. Your primary objective will be to study the minimizing effect of technological interventions that silence medical alarms on patients biological, physiological, and psychological responses.
Your secondary objective is to connect the quality of patient experiences to the quality of sound environment studied by another postdoctoral researcher.
The start date is May 2024 or as soon as possible.

This role requires medical expertise and fluency in patient data analysis, interest in medical technology. Social skills to engage with patients as well as nurses are needed for this post. Interest in technology and human-centered design are preferable to be able to connect to the other stakeholders and advance the state-of-the-art patient-centered solutions.

For this role you must have advanced English language skills. Proficiency in Dutch (clinical) language is also required.
