You will be responsible for managing the TIMID project and will act as the main contact person for all participating partners and personnel. You will manage the overall budget of the project together with the Financial Project Controller and oversee all legal matters related to TIMID handled by the Erasmus MC Technical Transfer Office. You will ensure that all project deliverables and milestones are fulfilled in time (i.e., recruitment of personnel, data management plan, research, events, and reporting) and will prepare scientific, managerial and financial reports for Health Holland.
You will also be responsible for the coordination of the organization and logistics of the patient recruitment program (second phase of the project), including ethics approval. You will establish and maintain the project website and will ensure effective and timely exchange of information, material and financial accounts between partners, the Erasmus MC administration, and Health Holland. Furthermore, you will establish and manage a communication steering group for news dissemination, education, and dialogue between TIMID researchers and society. Everything in direct cooperation with the project coordinator.
You are expected to travel to network events in within the Netherlands and Europe, and will additionally be involved in establishing and maintaining the project data management system, in collaboration with the TIMID researchers.
You will work directly with the coordinator of the consortium, Janneke N. Samsom, Associate Professor and Head of the Laboratory of Pediatrics at the Erasmus MC-Sophia Children’s Hospital in Rotterdam. The project manager will be responsible for the administrative, organizational, financial and scientific aspects of the consortium together with the coordinator. Close interactions with the participating partners, with the Erasmus MC-Sophia BV administration, and with Health-Holland will be required.

Erasmus MC seeks a part-time Project Manager Research for the administration and organization of “The TIMID Consortium: new taxonomy and treatment strategies for T cell driven Immune Mediated Inflammatory Diseases”. This "Samenwerkende Gezondheids Fondsen-Health-Holland Consortium" unites 6 Dutch Universities and 5 international companies, to generate a new TIMID taxonomy independent of the diseased organ but based on the pathogenic immunological mechanisms driving disease. The project extends over a period of 3,5 years, starting in December 2019.
You hold a Master Degree or equivalent preferably in the field of Biological or Health Sciences. Applicants with other Masters degrees will be considered, but should have proven experience in working in the biomedical field. A PhD degree is an advantage.
You have excellent skills in English (written and spoken). Dutch is an advantage. You have demonstrated experience in preparation and/or management of research networks on the national and/or European level. You have excellent organizational skills and you enjoy working in an independent and pro-active manner in a dynamic environment. Team and communication skills are essential in order to liaise with the different stakeholders in this project, with flexibility to move across a range of different functions. Effective multi-tasking and the ability to work to tight deadlines are also required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to move between the scientific and managerial level are essential. Knowledge of website maintenance an advantage.
Being able to present a certificate of good conduct, a valid proof of identity, diploma's and/ or relevant registration such as BIG/ RGS are conditions for the appointment.
Wat bieden wij
The gross monthly salary amounts a maximum of € 4.361,- (scale 10), depending on your level of education and relevant experience and based on a full-time working week of 36 hours. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Medical Centers (CAO UMC).
