Job description

You will work as a postdoctoral researcher on the BioClock project. The BioClock project is embedded in a multi-center NWA-ORC consortium (NWO funding). This particular project focuses on circadian rhythm enhancement during early life with the aim to improve health outcomes.

The project will involve the development of algorithms to identify rhythmic components in vital sign data of pre-term infants, as well as the validation of existing algorithms to determine sleep based on vital sign data. 

Work environment

As a postdoctoral researcher on the BioClock project, you will be part of the department of Molecular Genetics, where the central research theme is the mechanism and biological relevance of the DNA damage response. You will be embedded in a diverse research team.

Qualifications and skills

  • The candidate should have PhD in the field of bio-informatics and data analysis, with the emphasis on analysis high frequency data, and be familiar with research on circadian rhythms and sleep.
  • Programming experience and experience as data scientist required.
  • Experience working with high frequency human data highly appreciated.

Terms of employment

  • You will receive a temporary position for 1 year.
  • The gross monthly salary is between € 3.493,- and € 5.504,- (scale 10) depending on your level of education and relevant experience, based on a full-time working week of 36 hours.
  • Excellent fringe benefits, such as a 13th month that is already paid out in November and an individual travel expense package.
  • An International Office which aids you in preparing for you arrival and stay.
  • Pension insurance with ABP, we take care of approximately 2/3 of the monthly contribution.
  • Special benefits, such as an in-company physiotherapist and bicycle repairer. There is also a gym where you can work on your fitness after work.
